Mets Choke Again! What Else Is New?

Different year, same result.  Another high payroll Mets team gags like Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction.  What does 99.9% of baseball fans say?  Yippee!

Wright, Delgado, Beltran, Reyes, Santana, Glavine, Pedro, Wagner.  Wow.  Basically, an all-star team.  Although Santana is an awesome pitcher (he also single handedly won me a pool a few years ago), it’s good to see him not advance to the playoffs.  Money hungry prick.

It’s funny, compare the Mets roster and stats to either the Phillies or Brewers.  The Mets players “ON PAPER” are better overall, but just like their Bronx cousins, will be sitting the pine.  As that gay sounding Yankees broadcaster says every 5 minutes…. “See Ya!”

Another collapse befalls Mets as bullpen allows key homers

“We failed. We failed as a team,” David Wright said. “There’s no pointing fingers. There’s no excuses. We as a unit didn’t get the job done.”

Now, now David.  If you are a man, you will point fingers.  Bullpen sucks.

“Scott Schoeneweis and Luis Ayala served up back-to-back homers in the eighth inning that put the pesky Marlins ahead, and New York (89-73) lost out to Milwaukee (90-72) for the NL wild card on the last day of the season.”

There’s two mistakes back to back.  Scotty S is a career garbage pitcher with a 5.00 ERA and Ayala has been pitching 5.60 this year.  Putting both of these chumps in the game at the most critical time of the season is begging for doom.

“Missing injured closer Billy Wagner for the final two months, the Mets finished with 29 blown saves, including 16 since the All-Star break — most in the National League.”

I always enjoy watching teams dependent on certain players (basically one man teams)  go down in flames when the guy gets injured or traded.  Baseball rosters have something like 30 active players and they can’t hold leads when there are 10 other relievers on the bench?  LOL.  It’s always amazing when million dollar relievers can’t even pitch 1 or 2 effective innings.
