Zednik Gets Throat Slashed
Yikes. Just like Malarchuk 20 years ago. Zednik got an accidental skate to the throat by his teammate. Good news is that he’s in good condition at a Buffalo hospital. Zednik’s season is certainly done, but you know hockey players. No other athletes in professional sports are such troopers. He’ll be back next year. And too bad, he was on a hot streak lately.
Other pro and amateur stories I can find about serious skate cuts include: A high school senior getting 200 stitches, a major facial cut, and a linesman getting sliced…. and of course Borje Salming who got a skate to the face from Gallant.
