Rick Ankiel Must Be Blowing Someone
Here I am a week ago in a hotel. Relaxing after a tough day of regional business meetings and stomach filling dinner. The plan was to chill out for an hour, get some sleep, then repeat the next day. But something made my stomach turn. On ESPN, they showed a special about big time has-been Rick Ankiel whose still lingering around the St. Louis Cardinals organization. This guy should have been flipping burgers or selling used cars 5 years ago.
Ankiel had EXACTLY ONE good season - 2000. The rest were a compilation of junk, infinite visits to the DL and the worst ball control ever. Even a high school punk could throw balls closer to the catcher with more consistency. Doomed to the bone-yard of one hit wonders right? Wrong. He’s still around, this time batting and fielding as an OF in the Cards’ minor league system. His pitching career is over, his batting average is puke and he strikeouts too much. The only saving grace is that he has some pop in his bat. Like his pitching career, all power, no control.
Given this god awful track record, why would anyone keep this guy around? Because he must be giving someone in Cards’ management the sloppiest BJs on a regular basis.

I didn’t mean to insult your boyfriend Denny. Technically you’re wrong on two accounts.
1. I’m not sitting on a couch, I’m sitting on a chair
2. Even if I was sitting on a couch, I’d be sitting “on a couch”, not “with the couch”
AAA is minor leagues. Like Ralph Wiggum would say… “A Grade-A moron”

If you had half the desire that Rick has, maybe you’d be playin some active game and not with the couch! Oh, Excuse me, Guys like you (if you are a guy?), don’t even know what desire means! If you did, then Ankiel would come to mind! Rick is hitting .286 in AAA!!! Ahh, never mind? I forgot….You just can’t comprehend desire… But you will always find the couch
“I’m out”
